The largest country in Europe
The largest country in Europe is Russia. The country has an area of 17 million km² and is therefore also the largest country in the world. However, only about 4 million square kilometers of Russia’s area is in Europe, the rest belongs to Asia. However, the European part of Russia is easily enough to make Russia the largest country in Europe.

The second largest country in Europe is Ukraine with about 600,000 km². Ukraine is therefore more than 6 times smaller than the European part of Russia. It is followed by France with an area of 550,000 km². France is therefore the largest country in the European Union. This is followed by Spain, Sweden and Germany. This means that Germany is in 6th place among the largest countries in Europe. Germany has an area of 357,000 square kilometers.
