The longest snake in the world and also the heaviest snake in the world is the great anaconda. It is found in many countries in South America, especially in and around bodies of water in tropical rainforests such as the Amazon and its many small and large tributaries. The longest, largest and heaviest snake is the anaconda.

The great anaconda can grow up to 9 meters long. There are repeated reports of discoveries of anacondas with a length of 9 to 12 meters. However, these finds have not been proven. The longest snake in the world is a constrictor and is also dangerous to humans. It can also bite. Its bites are not poisonous, but are still dangerous. With its powerful muscles it can also strangle larger animals and people.

Stories that the longest snakes on earth even eat people are probably fairy tales. The Asian reticulated pythons are also extremely long animals. They can grow to about 8 meters long and weigh up to 100 kg. However, in the majority of literature sources, anacondas are considered to be the longest snakes in the world.
